No. You can start or join a journey and count without signing up. An account is only needed to keep your all-time ranking, publish reviews and build a profile.
How do friends join my journey?
Share the 8 character code or let them scan the QR. Up to five people can count in the same journey, and the counts sync live while you eat.

What does Omakase include?
Three things: the Omakase crest next to your name across the app, Instagram and TikTok links on your profile, and support for the small team behind the app.
